40th Shiro Asano National Championships

Hi Everyone,


Please find attached a copy of the entry form for the 40th Shiro Asano National Championships, details below.

All students who have been selected for the World Championship it is compulsory for you to compete. This was highlighted to you all at Selections:


Criteria for Selections:


  • Regular attendance at Regional Squad Sessions - this equates to a minimum of 70% of Squad Sessions for that year (Regional Coaches/Assistants are required to send a regular attendance list to the National Coach following the Squads in there Region)
  • Regular entry into SKI-GB National Championships
  • Regular placings at the above National Championships
  • Consistent and regular training at your local club


Due to the upcoming World Championships in July, and in the interest of widening participation for our students and clubs, there will be the following events running.

  1. Individual Kata for both Juniors, Senior and Masters.
  2. Students who are 16 Years + graded 9th - 1st Kyu are now eligible to compete in the Adults Mixed Kata events
  3. Individual Kata Events for students who are graded Shodan (Black Belt) and above
  4. Under 10's Kata and Kumite Events (Grade specific so please see the criteria on the attached form)
  5. Regional Team Event now comprises of: 

2 x Senior Male Kumite (16 years +)

1 x Master Male Kumite (40 Years + & 3rd Kyu and above) 

2 x Male Kumite (13-15 years)
1 x Mixed Child Kumite (10-12 Years)
1 x Adult Kata (16 Years +, 3rd Kyu & Above, Mixed Sex)


Date: Sunday 28th April 2019

Time: 09:00 - 17:00

Venue: Nottingham Wildcats Arena, Nottingham

Note: Closing date for all entries is Wednesday 24th April - No entries will be accepted after this date due to administration time.


Referees / Judges & Officials:

Unfortunately Ken Davies will not be in attendance at the Spring Championships and so I  will  temporarily be tasked with coordinating this, please can all students who have undergone training and examinations with Ken and who are available on the 28th please send me an email to confirm that you would like to referee/judge, officiate in some capacity so that I can coordinate the events with the appropriate referees etc. Deadline for this is Monday 15th April .
